What are the Prerequisites for PADI Rescue Diver course?

  1. Advanced Open Water Certification: The rescue diver course will require you to have a good command of your diving skills. Being an Advanced Open Water diver will give you the necessary prerequisite buoyancy and underwater navigation skills to enroll on the PADI Rescue Diver course.
  2. Be in good health. As for every PADI diving course, you will have to complete a medical questionnaire to ensure that there are no contraindications with diving. You can find a copy of the latest version of this form at this link.
  3. Minimum age: You can enroll on the PADI Rescue Diver course from the age of 12, when you will earn a Junior Rescue Diver certification.
  4. First Aid and CPR Training: You will need to hold a recognized first aid and cardiopulmonary qualification, taken within the past 24 months. We offer the Emergency First Response first aid & CPR course that you can complete prior to starting the PADI Rescue Diver course.
  5. Experience: Although there is no minimum number of dives required to complete your PADI Rescue Diver, we always recommend that you have a few additional logged fun dives, outside training dives, so you’re comfortable with your buoyancy and other key skills necessary to become a PADI Rescue Diver.

What is the PADI Rescue Diver course schedule?

Our standard course schedule is as follows

  1. Day 1: Emergency First Response course in the morning. It’s a dry course – no diving involved – and will take most of the first day.
  2. Day 2: First day of your Rescue Diver. Your diving instructor will show you all the skills that you will have to master and will teach you how to act in case of any eventuality.
  3. Day 3: Second day of your Rescue Diver. In this case, you will have to be the one to do the exercises, get ready, because we will put you to the test and you will never know what is next!

If you already hold a recognized first aid & CPR qualification, completed within the past 24 months then you will not need to complete day 1 in the above schedule.

**PLEASE BE AWARE**

Like all PADI diving courses the PADI Rescue course is performance based. What this means is you must master every performance requirement. We will work with each student to ensure mastery and what this may mean is the above schedule being extended to allow you the additional time necessary.

Why Choose PADI for Rescue Diver Course?

PADI dive centers must adhere to the highest training standards and customer service levels in the dive industry.

PADI is the most recognized agency worldwide when it comes to recreational diving courses, with hundreds of agencies around the world, PADI is established in more countries than any other agency.

In short, if you go to a small island like Koh Tao in the middle of the ocean and there is a diving school, it is most likely PADI.

PADI is the only training agency whose curriculum is written by educational authors, using tried, tested and trusted learning philosophies adapted for scuba diving.

The PADI system is performance based, not time based.

What this means is you will have to earn your certification, and you can’t buy it!

Please keep in mind that we are going to ask you to do more than other dive centers and agencies. On the bright side this will mean you will receive a higher quality training course and will be much better prepared as a certified scuba diver.

PADI is the only agency that conducts customer satisfaction surveys to ensure that its professionals are meeting the highest standards of education and safety, while other agencies only ask instructors or schools to manage their own standards.
